Why I Decided to Become a Financial Coach...

As soon as my husband and I were engaged at the end of 2021, we started planning our future. One of our dreams was to buy our first home together!!! As we started planning, we realized we didn't really know where to start. We began working with a realtor to help us through the home buying process, and very quickly we had purchased our first home.

 

We were so excited about our new purchase, and while there were no regrets, we didn’t take the time to really make sure that this purchase would work for us beyond the home purchase. 

 

I’ve realized that I wanted someone who could really talk through all the home-buying details that often aren’t talked about – how much home we could truly afford (and not just what the bank says we can afford), the importance of saving for a larger down payment, how to prepare for other pre- and post-purchase home expenses, and how to buy the right amount of house so that we could continue to live out our other goals and dreams after purchasing.

 

I’ve heard story after story of clients who purchased too much home which resulted in buyer’s remorse, stress in how they can afford the monthly payment, anxiety due to lack of savings that would help pay for unexpected home maintenance and repairs, and frustration because the large purchase they just made has put financial strain on them keeping them from being able to do other things with their lives.
